@joenepraat@todon.nl very sorry, we didn't mean that they were, nor believed you thought or stated such. I recognize we phrased it very poorly. We meant that just as we can't know for sure they- the individual at fault, not the non-western far right as a whole- were non-western yet, as you said. Even if they were confirmed that, not that they are, we still couldn't know if the western right wing didn't push them- the individual in question, not non-western far right groups- didn't get them to commit that act. Even if they, individually, were a part of any non-western far right groups, it may have been watching or engadging with western far right online that pushed them too it. Places like 4chan, reddit, youtube, they have much more porous barriers, let alone considering who they talk too irl. So while its usually easy to know what a groups aims are, its much more difficult to know what a individuals motives and inspiration were, even if they were a part of a group with stated aims. Its another reason to not give any legitimacy to right wing claims, especially considering how broadly and extremely they themselves advocate horrible reppressive violence.
