🇮🇸 Did you know there's a place called New Iceland in Canada? On today's date in 1873, 285 Icelandic settlers arrived in Québec, bound for Manitoba. Fleeing volcanic eruptions and famine, they went on to found New Iceland on the shores of Lake Winnipeg.
