The big difference with that one is that it was a war of defence with clearly defined aims (kick Saddam's army out of Kuwait).
Their problem is they keep starting unwinnable wars of aggression (Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran, etc). Doesn't really matter how good at fighting they are: the mistake is strategic rather than military. They are just intrinsically unwinnable.

@statsguy@mas.to @PallasRiot@social.treehouse.systems one thing that we have to be grateful for is that with all the cops and all the cameras the one thing they can't do is make good sound strategic decisions. They're going to make bad decisions and fuck stuff up and that's going to create openings for us to defeat them
