@alexia@shrimp.starlightnet.work it would be crazy to make this a paid-only feature… Trading payment info for phone numbers is not good for many cases where privacy is a concern.

@tisba@ruby.social I don't think they meant monetary cost, moreso a figurative kind of "cost". Like "switching costs", those aren't monetary but there's a real cost there. Something more akin to that.
