So, all the articles about this are kind of old, but I assume that Trump has been trading on the Iran war for as long as it has been going. Every flip flop between peace talks and new strikes is a trading opportunity. This explains what is going on. As long as you assume that Trump is an utter moron. If he wasn't, he would simply trade on whatever information he is privy to, without having to generate the events himself.
