@azure@clubcyberia.co @cassidyclown@clubcyberia.co does Australia actually export the same amount of oil and (what I assume to be LNG) gas as the UAE? The UAE exports like 20x as much oil while Australia exports like 20x as much LNG but I don't know how the scale and money is different between LNG and oil, I assume oil is way more lucrative

@sam@froth.zone @azure@clubcyberia.co we're the third largest lng exporter in the world - nowhere near as much oil. But our biggest export is iron ore. Big Mining pretty much got a standing prime minister fired for trying to tax them. It's known political suicide to try interfering in any meaningful way with the interests of BigMining. They are particularly an all-consuming vortex of influence in western australia. BigMining owns everyone. Australia manufactures nothing - we just send raw resources to china and american companies get the profits.
