The most optimal build in Digimon Up is one where you're constantly automatically healing. Which means every single PvP match devolves into the match timing out. The thing is, PvP matches are all automatic. You challenge someone. So there's always an attacker and a defender. If the match ends via time out, the defender wins. So I am winning literally no matches where I attack, but my rank isn't going down because I am winning most of the matches I defend. My rank still goes up even on matches I didn't initiate. (I still need to initiate, and likely lose, matches, in order to receive rewards for the match. The ranking affects a different award you receive at the end of the season.)
