@infoseclogger@infosec.exchange I remember one time dealing with an MSSP whom shall remain nameless, and I had put in a request to update one of our honeynets (i.e. any traffic destined to those networks were immediately marked as suspicious, as they was nothing there, but the network was null routed past our primary gateways so we could see traffic headed there)
The subnet was a /24.
The analyst entering the update mistakenly marked the subnet as /2.
E-mail on the phone was a new thing for us back then, but we were all able to immediately tell that something was amiss - because everyone's phones started to heat up.
