@Aurani@tech.lgbt Literally the company I applied for ends in "SIA" which apparently is the Latvian version of an LLC. They DM me on LinkedIn and send the link to the company that's local to me (in the US). I call them up on Friday because things seem suspicious and the answering machine says "we're closed due to the holiday". (What holiday? It's past July 4th - there's no holidays in sight!) Check the site a day or two later and the site is just the background image, no buttons to click.
Now this. How could I possibly trust this company?

@Starcross@mk.absturztau.be LinkedIn sent me an alert today about a job post. But the original post was made like 7 days ago. I think the person is legit themselves (I could probably nuke almost all of my connections and not impact anything meaningful). But they were talking about a company needing a bunch of short term people. I checked out the company's profile on LinkedIn, and it had no jobs not any mention of looking for anyone. And even their own website had no links to any kind of job. And maybe this is entirely a "through networking only" type of job, just feels off.
