From a purely software engineering point of view, I don’t understand why they feel the need to hardcode such a list. This is precisely the kind of thing that should be a configuration file, not code.

There is also a penchant amongst some tech types to force their worldviews. Look at all the AI people, Zuckerberg, and so many other tech leaders.
