@Tutanota@mastodon.social I'm against AI, but I am for ML. To me AI is techbro hype about a generic model running on planet destroying hardware. Whereas ML, is something much smaller, and targeted. Searching for cures for cancer needs specific data sets to work on, not all the stolen data a techbro can possibly get by repeatedly scraping every server on the planet. So to argue, as some do, that we need AI for the answer to our problems, is missing a big part of the picture.
