the amount of misinformation on the left about large language models and generative technologies is astounding. most of the landscape is fueled by anger, not fact checking. i hope the left wakes up and starts actually doing research into the claims they're making at some point because we are not going to win the war against generative technologies this way.

you are most likely wrong about what LLMs can actually do these days. you are most likely wrong about how much it actually costs to run these LLMs. you are most likely wrong about the environmental impact that LLMs are actually causing. you are most likely wrong about how LLM companies are "destroying books" (they were going to be pulped anyway, this is literally giving them a second life before recycling). it is so frustrating to be forced to work in the LLM field and see the technologies being used and then log on to see a metric fuck ton of misinformation from people who supposedly have "the facts".
