@Veza85UE@eupolicy.social @energisch_@troet.cafe I find interesting the conceptual differences between the European leaders of today and those of the past. The current lack of a common project, with most seeking political survival and national interests, speaks poorly about our current leaders, some of which will enjoy a tenure far shorter than their suggested budgetary cuts.

@pmroman@toot.community My deep scepticism about nostalgia makes me doubt there was ever a golden era in which the vast majority DIDN'T prioritise political survival (nothing wrong with that, imo, can't do much for 🇪🇺 from opposition) and not only national but also clientele networks interests. They refused to fund Sofia Corradi's Erasmus for many years in the golden era. That said: 1. Everyone is 9 now. 2. Everything happens faster and stupider. @energisch_@troet.cafe
