@hyde@lazybear.social @rysiek@mstdn.social Europe will become a Sahara whether Europe has data centers or not. China and US are responsible for nearly 50% of global CO2 emissions. In Europe, Russia is the highest with 4.4% of global emissions, while in the EU Germany is the highest at 1.6%. We should have data centers in Europe or we become even less competitive globally as a trading block. If we want to be independent of US cloud companies we need a lot of compute.
