We all know trains are cool, but did you know the first ever passenger rail service stuck and killed a sitting MP on it's debut. 😸 🚂 🚑 ⚰️ 💀

The Duke Of Wellington was a passenger on the same train which ensured that when the murderous train service arrived in Manchester they were greeted by a riotous mob. They had to flee back to Liverpool but the lack of ability to turn around and lack of motive power in reverse meant this took 6 and a half hours. A familiar experience for people travelling from Manchester to Liverpool to this day. Serving prime ministers being pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables, sadly no longer a part of Manchester culture 😾
