in fact you can't even use it for recipes anymore, they're paywalled behind a subscription, and when i log in it shows me a wheel that is rigged to always first give me nothing, but then suddenly give me the best discount on the subscription on the second spin and urge me to buy it. this shit is so emetic

@mynameistillian@plush.city I guess you will have to start collecting 20th / early 21st century recipe books like I do with books about cars (and I'm finding myself reading a lot of the older ones to teach me the basics about new vehicles - much is all the same, except a few of the smaller spinny bits have been replaced by sensors/electronics feeding an embedded system, and it turns out that manufacturers were designing all of todays electronic stuff back in 1970s)
