I just checked the permissions page on Android and it's not required there.
Could it be the Bluetooth permission, which makes sense for headsets and such? 🤔

@alexanderadam@ruby.social It's the iOS app. When I rejected its requests for each of these (other than mic & camera), I honestly didn't pay attention to what it said but basically it was trying to convince me to go back and give it access. It didn't ask for Bluetooth, though. iOS doesn't require giving direct BT access for audio. I wasn't surprised by it requesting location and contacts (every social app seems to do that), but requesting fitness data was new.
