Share! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ I'm just a former cybersecurity professor who quit her job because the Open Institute of Technology was going to force me to subject my students to Gen AI. Kickstarter is my sole source of income for the time being, and I'm really struggling financially. I wrote books for O'Reilly and Wiley, and now I write self published books criticizing Big Tech. I have an excellent track record with Kickstarter campaigns. Gen AI will end. The laws of physics can't sustain datacentres. Financial bubble. Model collapse. I cite MIT, UN, and Harvard Science Review. What will we do in the aftermath to recover from massive population psychological damage, environmental destruction, tech debt, abandoned datacentres? Pledge as low as about $12 USD for an eBook. Share! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ #NoAI Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kimcrawley/recovering-after-gen-ai

  • @kimcrawley@zeroes.ca Backed, ๐ŸŽ‰ Edit: I am astonished by your courage to walk away from your previous career over your convictions. I have to use GenAI at work, and I hate it - but I'm the sole income source for a family of six, and it would be exceptionally difficult to find a job in tech that doesn't include GenAI these days.

@kimcrawley@zeroes.ca We have to ask who earns the cash from the GenAi hype? The more rumour, the more cash for BigTech. Stop the hype (can we?) and Ai will get back to what it is: rhe next step in computertechnology. Nothing more, nothing less. Lets not go crazy for the benefit of BigTech.

@kimcrawley@zeroes.ca > What will we do Perhaps "we" should be prepared for an IT sector that lost its reputation.
