@slightlyoff@toot.cafe and yet I'm constantly told that contributing to #PHP is too hard when it takes, _checks notes_: 1. Signing up to a mailing list 2. Asking for a Wiki account 3. Write an RFC on the wiki 4. Send email to same mailing list about your RFC 5. Minimum 2 weeks of discussion 6. Call a vote, which runs for 2 weeks 7. Hopefully have RFC accepted? Which is incredibly accessible to the point where sometimes you get E_TOO_MANY_RFCS that are not fleshed out enough...

    @slightlyoff@toot.cafe And I'm not saying this process is perfect, as sometimes I wonder if having multiple stages would be a good idea. But too many layers does mean achieving anything becomes too bothersome and stalled ad infinitum (a problem that we have when disagreements happen for minor issues and then you need to invest way too much time into a process not designed for these sort of things...)
