Absolute carnage in Tesco this morning, most of the chiller cabinets seem to have failed in the heat so they're selling off everything they can half price. I just popped in to grab something for lunch but ended up grabbing a lot of discounted fresh produce and deli bits. I won this morning but in the long term we're all going to be the losers.

@afewbugs@social.coop My local Waitrose is currently closed for a refurbishment. I wonder if that will include beefier fridges, freezers and chiller cabinets for the new normal of the British summer. All the supermarkets will have to gradually replace their refrigeration - customer facing and behind the scenes - over the next decade or so, for ones that can cope with this heat. And we know who will pay for it.
