Sigh, I found two good videos on the virtues of buying old cars (price, esthetics, privacy), and discovered that they were run by (sometimes religious) conservatives. It’s funny, but sometimes I feel that progressives aren’t pushing back as hard as some conservatives against the invasive #surveillance tech that is ever more present in modern cars. It’s truly appalling what data carmakers are collecting, and how difficult cars are getting to repair thanks to an over-reliance on software, computers, and displays. Sadly, EVs mostly come with surveillance problems, because they are relatively new. We really need consumer rights laws, like yesterday.
