Yeah, I know that feeling, most often for personal projects but sometimes for professional work that has some personal interest.
The few times I've managed other people, though, I think is similar, although my LLM experience to date is limited.
When I think about assigning work to team members, yeah, I would not want them to do the things I find really interesting.
But on the more routine stuff, delegating is ok.
Hmm, except when one is looking for the rewarding feeling of accomplishment for the overall project. In that case I think it could go either way.

@dougmerritt@mathstodon.xyz I recently saw a meme: PhD advising == prompt engineering :) I think as we have more and more tools and we build more and more complex systems (in 1986 I had an 8bit C64) we also need to grow with the capabilities and the possibilites and learn to draw satisfaction from the completion of a goal and not only from the means. For me it is both about and not about Ithaka (I am highly annoyed about the long way home, given the two big breaks he took; the Cavafy Ithaka is different) https://www.onassis.org/initiatives/cavafy-archive/the-canon/ithaka I do not know whether I make any sense
