Dip your feet, light a votive candle, say a prayer to the 'god of purification' at Inoue-sha (井上社), and you will be protected (especially against chilblains and beriberi) for another year💦👣🕯️🙏✨💪

Beautifully lit up by lanterns at night, Shimogamo-jinja (下鴨神社) also looks mighty fine under the blazing sun. After a cycle across the city, the ice cold waters of the Mitarashi pond were a most welcome sight.
