I was going through some old work and got nostalgic. For no reason at all, other than me being bored, here's a SCPH-77003 PS2 slim I installed a modchip to in 2020. I'm actually amazed I managed to solder it at all, given that I used 30awg stranded copper with really thick insulation; most people use solid-core kynar which is much easier to use for precise work. My modern soldering is much better than this. Anyway, this board is worthless anyway, because it doesn't have the original MIPS R3000 on it. I only did this one back then because... it was a pink PS2 slim. I did a lot of these a few years ago, mostly for fun. These mods remove DRM and copy protections, letting you run whatever code you want. People mostly used these to copy games without paying for them, but you could also run emulators and crap, like, the machine became fully reprogrammable. I haven't done any of these in years. Perhaps I might do these again one day.
