@nigelharpur@musicians.today Further discussion: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48334021 The Rsync developers’ POV is that the AI is unearthing long standing security bugs: https://seclists.org/oss-sec/2026/q2/620 (With my own open source project, the number of false flags AI has found vastly outnumbers the number of real security bugs; AI has found one bug worthy of patching which was almost to impossible to exploit with an optional program which hasn’t even compiled since 2022; other claims were found to not be actual security problems)
