We’ve got to get better at grasping it—and countering it. Didn't Umberto Eco make a specific point about Nazi's use of slippery language while they consolidated power? There is definitely some gap in contemporary understanding. For example, I keep hearing lately that someone has uncovered the special "new link" between technology and fascism. Um, techno-fascism is actually the original fascism. Please... look it up.
