@oz1tmm@techhub.social Now I feel I need to correct the scene you are probably picturing: This took place in the days when moving a phone number from one physical address to another meant that someone at a telephone station (me, in the summer of 1986) had to disconnect one cable pair and connect another. So I was sitting up on a ladder surrounded by shelves of connectors, and the soldering iron was hanging in its power cord over one of the shelves while I was peeling cable ends.
