Schools probably the biggest activity of the NSW Church and thoroughly corrupted. Fisher effectively Chairman of Board with McInerney as CEO. The fact that he is an Archbishop shouldn't protect him. If it does, case against any state support for Catholic schools gravely weakened.

@johnquiggin@aus.social Let's imagine for a moment this happened on the other side of politics. Imagine one of the unions established a trades training school that received taxpayer money through the federal government. And let's suppose the CEO of this trades training school allegedly channelled money to a particular faction of the Labor Party through donations. Let alone all the other accusations around colourful property developers and the premier's brothers and the attempts to roll the police minister who's from a rival faction or remove the Building Commissioner. You wouldn't hear the end of it! Not from Sky, or the Murdoch tabloids, or Seven, or The Australian, or the Coalition, or One Nation! It really goes to the heart of whether public education money should go to a private school organisation that's so deeply involved in Liberal Party politics. #auspol #nswpol
