@megmac@social.treehouse.systems Parc Lafontaine is very pretty in fall. There's a nice small hotel here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bccRR1fJh4m32jM59 Avenue Mont Royal is fun and interesting, and the Mont Royal metro station is about a 15 minute walk away. The metro can take you downtown or to the old town. The eponymous Mount Royal is visible from the park and the auberge; it's a great day trip, and another great place to see fall colours.

@megmac@social.treehouse.systems On the bike rental front, you're in luck! Montreal has a fantastic urban bikeshare system. https://bixi.com/en/ They are everywhere. A lot of the stations close after November 15, but there are a lot that stay open year round for the intrepid biker.

  • @evan@cosocial.ca @megmac@social.treehouse.systems I would strongly second the Auberge. It's quirky and old, but the staff are great and the location is good. It's right across the street from two big Bixi stands, and about 1km from two different metro stations on the Orange line. In Parc La Fontaine, there's the Theatre Verdure which puts on free music/theater in the Summer. There's a nonprofit restaurant/bar in the park that donates proceeds to community programs.
