@fivetonsflax@tilde.zone @mhoye@cosocial.ca If you do something that will stop people from building in desirable areas, you effectively stop new housing construction. And in that case, people will still move into desirable areas and displace the people there by driving up rents; there will just be less housing available overall. What you need are laws that force people redeveloping affordable housing to find new housing for those affected.
