As someone who has occasionally found the One Surviving Copy of a book and then digitalized it in order to share with other people and try to encourage a reprint, I can't imagine how evil these people are

@julieofthespirits@kolektiva.social in a social group I'm in we digitized one of John Hershey's unfinished books into a shareable PDF and I'm sad and angry that if one of these baffoon-ass companies got hold of all his notes they would turn them into sludge and no one would ever know it
