@f0x@dsmc.space in russian "лиса" is derived from a deprecated word "лисый" which means "yellowish", so its either them having fluffy bushy tails or being yellowish
which idk why they were seen like that, maybe foxes used to be more yellow centuries ago, the chanterelle is called a "лисичка" in russian because its yellowish and it stayed yellowish
