But great effort can also cause suffering in the form of exhaustion. So... Effort -> success ...and also... Effort -> suffering But there's no reason the opposite is true. That is... Suffering !-> effort -> success Therefore, suffering does not cause success, and that's a mathematical fact. Q.E.D.
