By the way my cowboy hardening of this splitting wedge in the fires of the sauna burner seems to have worked, apart from maybe overdoing it a little and a piece chipping off. But its definitely no longer soft :)

@yngmar@social.tchncs.de I've never tried to temper any of my tools, but maybe someday I'll give it a go. I have a few blades that are too soft and don't keep an edge.
