@13reak@infosec.exchange I think Matrix is resource intensive to host? Honestly the user experience (from when I tried) is quite different, DeltaChat is jsut like WhatsApp to the non-technical user (i.e. great user experience) and very easily self-hostable. There are many, many more reasons (like webxdc, standards compliance, strong cryuptography, etc.) but I can't comment on each point vs Matrix. Dig in here: https://delta.chat
