Many of the senators harangued Fauci as "dishonest" because some of the guidance on COVID-19 was proven wrong and revised over time.
That's just how science works. NOT revising conclusions when new evidence becomes available would be dishonest.

I've testified on the Hill a bunch of times. Never under circumstances where I was the focus of delusional accusations, but I've been asked my share of moderately hostile or just plain dumb questions, because that's just how congress is. It's hard even when you're free to respond fully. Fauci's composure and resolve was exceptional.

@mattblaze@federate.social the CDC's initial anti-masking guidance and subsequent reversal (within a couple weeks) was definitely not based on new scientific evidence coming to light
