🔴Why Does the Political Persecution Against Miguel Peralta Continue? 📍On February 20, 2026, the First Collegiate Court of Oaxaca officially recognized the falsity of the testimonies against Miguel, thereby acquitting him of all charges. 📍That ruling should have put an end to the political persecution against him. However, on June 12, 2026, we were notified that the case of Miguel has returned to the Supreme Court, as the court accepted a motion for review filed by the accusing party—the State Congresswoman Elisa Zepeda—against the ruling granting him absolute freedom. That ruling has now been “suspended” until the Supreme Court dictates a new ruling. Miguel’s case has thus been reopened, and the State persecution against him continues. The new ruling from the Supreme Court is expected sometime in 2027.
