Still enjoying "The Lost Era" Star Trek novels. I'm always tickled by characters I had forgotten about making an appearance, even as side or incidental characters. This time it was Alidar Jarok, known as "Admiral Jarok" in the TNG season 3 episode "The Defector". The book takes place several years before the D is launched, so he is still a prominent war hero on Romulus, but the dialogue shows the seeds of his doubts. Really cool! Played by James Sloyan, Jarok is one of my favourite Romulans of all time, up there with Tomalak (played by Andreas Katsulas, may he RIP).
