I recently had this mental breakthrough where I just realised I can do things, just because I want them to, and its been so insanely freeing. It's not like I didn't have preferences of my own before or anything, but over the last years I've slowly allowed them to fade into the back to present a safer version of myself. The car was driving itself and I was just making corrections. But there are no rules to a lot of things, at least not ones you can't just ignore. I can just not finish my food if I'm not feeling it anymore, I can just wear my hat even through I think it looks slightly masculiene, why not if I'm happy how I look in it? I transitioned to break out of the gender expectations out upon me, why would I force myself back in a binary I can give my opinion on music and art, people don't have to agree, or maybe they even do, only way to know is to be yourself about it! I feel like an idiot writing this out, I'm sure almost everyone already knew about this, but it only just recently clicked for me. I feel full of energy. A friend gave me an acrylic of her fursona and I've had it clipped to my belt at the office, why not? It makes me happy seeing it. I'm free!

@Purple@woof.tech don't feel like an idiot; I struggle with this too, and I think it's a common experience for autistic people / people traumatised in a certain way :rpheart:
