Recently at work we replaced a component of an Audio DSP server (glorified PC) which was a PCIe MADI interface. It has a redundant twin with the same version card as the original (not changed).
The new one now outputs wordclock at a 180° phase offset to the old one (inverted), for the same wordclock input signal.
Crucially, the new one is correct — the wordclock output is in phase with the input. It’s the old ones that are wrong.
However, now it also doesn’t work properly.
Do we need a replacement to be wrong correctly, or correct wrongly???
I give up
