Edit to add: I have it this aft via PCOB that OIM now has what they sought (I've no new info about Wed refusal) I've heard Willy Street Co-op has video that the Office of the Independent Monitor has requested for its investigation into today's killing, and that the co-op refused...saying they were "cooperating with the City" The OIPM is part of the City, so this implies my co-op is cooperating with police (killers) and not with independent oversight (not killers). Such a stance must be rebuked

“Several speakers in the crowd urged protesters to focus their energy on the Aug. 4 meeting of the Madison city council, where amendments to the ordinance that governs the Police Civilian Oversight Board and the Office of the Independent Monitor will be discussed” “the measure would restrict the PCOB and OIM at a moment when their independence and access to police information allows them to investigate shootings” https://isthmus.com/news/news/fatal-officer-involved-shooting-on-willy-evokes-outrage-deja/ https://www.cityofmadison.com/city-hall/committees/common-council/2026-08-04 https://madison.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=7988410&GUID=6D618C28-9FCF-4259-8402-00773301AA85&Options=&Search=
