Unix spell ran in 64KB of RAM. Modern spell checkers use millions. The difference? Unix spell used phonetic rules instead of massive dictionaries. It's a reminder that elegant constraints often produce better software than unlimited resources. #Linux #Retrocomputing #OpenSource #Programming
