  Yes, my enlarger base was just the right size for a drowsy cat. [The photo itself was probably produced using the same enlarger.] Side note: You might be interested to know that many of the books and novelettes which I read at the time [1970s] are in Project Gutenberg now. Two examples of novels are listed below. [One illustration for each book is attached.] Drowsy (1917): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/53802 Anything You Can Do (1963): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/30742 If you like, add the "Anything You Can Do" cover to one of the Project Gutenberg copies of that book. [The project already has the "Drowsy" illustration.] For what it's worth, the alien pictured here [the Nipe] is a gentleman by his standards. Of course, his standards include the concept that it's polite to eat people. The hooks for "Anything You Can Do" aren't limited to the polite but chompy alien. A parallel thread is the question of exactly who the detective who's hired to hunt down the alien is. The detective himself isn't entirely sure of his own identity. People underestimate how readable even #books from 50 to 150 years ago can be. Not all, but some are entertaining.
