I sell Libreboot, and Libreboot accessories: https://minifree.org/ I'm Libreboot's founder and lead developer; sales fund the project. These computers come with Libreboot preinstalled, which replaces proprietary BIOS/UEFI firmware. Libreboot offers far greater security and freedom to the user compared to proprietary firmware, removing or disabling certain malicious features (e.g. disabling Intel ME). Libreboot gives you freedom. It's the same argument as using, say, Linux instead of Windows. Libreboot gives you back control of your property - your computer - and you can do what you want with it. Libreboot is a special distro of coreboot that provides nicer features for ease of use, focusing on non-technical users, while also being highly configurable for power users. It is a coreboot distro, the same way Debian is a Linux distro. Send-in service also available (Libreboot and other coreboot distros). Your choice of Debian Linux, other Linux distro or a BSD system on each machine.

@libreleah@mas.to May the Source be with you! Just noting something about the website. I strongly recommend a lil better design and colors. People get a "feeling" from you which influences their decision, even when they think it doesn't. I suggest on big enough screens, like PC, width of the body should be limited so the eye won't have to move much to read the text. Also a modest color pallet and very important, dark mode!

@libreleah@mas.to I had (have!) a Libreboot Thinkpad. Stopped using it for sheer lack of grunt. But I should try recomissioning it ... oh no - I remember why the last effort stopped -I lost the charger. One of those "centre pin" connectors, IIRC (currently 500 km away). Have to find one of those somewhere. The software shouldn't be a problem, given power.
