I'm so tired of EU national leaders talking out of two sides of their mouths - saying the EU should do more and be stronger and then refusing to give it the money and resources necessary to do so.
Because they lack the political courage to be honest with citizens about why it is needed.

@davekeating.substack.com The problem is that Rob Jetten has got a shoestring around his neck that is being held by the VVD. To be able become prime minister Jetten chose to enter a coalition with the VVD that demanded strict financial boundaries including EU budget. The VVD has been the rot in Dutch politics for about 15 years now and every party that enters a coalition with them ends up loosing votes. I think Jetten is basically a good guy. He just wanted to become prime minister a bit too much I think.
