@dropbear@aus.social I asked for a hysterectomy at 17 due to 3 month long periods. No. Babies! At 30. NO!! BABIES!!! At 43 I was told I should have one. Me: "Alright cool when is that likely to be?" Surgeon: "I... normally have to talk people into them" Me: "So this year or...?"

@dropbear@aus.social "what if your future husband wants children?" As if it's not your decision to make, instead it's the decision of some bloke you haven't even met.

@dropbear@aus.social after our "go for a final fourth" became "final fourth, fifth, and sixth" my wife decided that enough is enough(!) and asked the surgeon to tie her tubes while they had her all opened up during the caesarian. Paper signed, ready to go. He still felt it necessary to reconfirm after three little humans had just been pulled out of her! "Just get on with it!", was her response.

I used to be friends with a woman who gave me a lecture about relationships once. When she heard I was getting married and I said we don't want children, she went off at me. Her reasoning is that no woman actually means those words when they say it, and it was unfair of me to hold my future wife to this contract. I don't know why it's only women who apparently are subject to this rule of law. She never explained that bit.
