I first checked paper mario: the thousand year door out of the local public library in around 2006 or 2007 (almost immediately after getting a Wii). It continued a long-standing habit of me picking out RPG's purely by accident before I even knew what an RPG was. (Harry Potter & the [Sorcerer's, Philosophers] Stone on Game Boy Colour, Pokémon… Drawn to Life (sort of), probably lots of others) I fell in love with it but only got through Hooktail before I had to return it to the library way too soon and never got very far. Was haunted by the save on my gamecube memory card for years. Finally beat it about 18 years later.
