@Silversnapples@mastodonapp.uk When I drive from here (Nairn) to Carrbridge I drive through a part of last year's wildfire - all blackened trees and undergrowth. It's heartbreaking that it happens and to see the consequences, so often, of human stupidity. Caveat - I don't yet know the cause of the current wildfire around Nethy Bridge.

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot in the end it comes down to an environment that can host a wildfire. Unusually ongoing dry spells and heat. Its hard to watch the west see the warning light on the earth control panel and not decide it cannot run this way.

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot Even if a fire starts by a human, the number and intensity of #wildfires is due to human-made #climateCrisis. More and more extreme #heatwaves combined with #draught ... wildfires become more like hell. And global warming touches regions where people were not prepared for such extremes. Now we have to fight fires (and floods etc) *and* the #FossilFuelIndustry ... @Silversnapples@mastodonapp.uk
