@tomjennings@tldr.nettime.org In summary for you: A positive is a true positive, from any test.A negative result from an expired test is uninformative both because reagents degrade, and old RATs are insensitive to Omicron variantsunexpired rapid tests will give false negatives in 40-80% of positive cases, so a negative on a fresh test should be taken as a very weak signal that an infection isn't SARS-CoV-2test using a cheek and nose swab, and not the way-up-there nasopharyngeal swabbing which is less comfortable and has a higher false negative rate #SARSCoV2 #COVID #COVID19
