It is my considered opinion that the stem ginger cookies from Aldi are now superior to the modern Arnott's ginger nut biscuit.

The modern Arnott's ginger nut seems smaller, and less dense. It doesn't cope well with being dunked in a cup of tea now. I recall being able to hold it in there for several seconds and get it to a warm and chewy texture, but it just disintegrates if you try that now.
